Dr. BernalDr. Bernal graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1991. Upon graduating from U.O.P. he was awarded the Comprehensive Patient Care Award for outstanding performance in all clinical disciplines of dentistry and was admitted as a member into Tau Kappa Omega dental honor society.
Dr. Bernal is among less than 300 accredited members worldwide of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is a Fellow in the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics. He is also a graduate of both the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Education (LVI) and the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum in San Francisco. Both institutions involve the in-depth study of delivering comprehensive cosmetic dental treatment.
Dr. Matthew Bernal's cosmetic dental treatment has been featured in Journals including the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry. This publication is the official Journal of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the largest association of Cosmetic Dentists in the world. In these articles, Dr. Bernal describes his process for placing veneers for his patients. His latest publication was a case study of a complex dental implant placement in conjunction with veneers.
He is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Santa Clara County Dental Society, where he is a past chair of the Continuing Education Committee. He is also the past co-course director of the Silicon Valley Aesthetic Dental Continuum and has lectured to dentists in the areas of cosmetic and high tech dentistry. He currently serves on the Ethics Committee for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Bernal's private dental practice is located in San Jose, California, and offers a wide range of up to date and technologically advanced dental treatment. He and his staff are committed to quality dental care and the long term health of their patients. His practice has been emphasizing aesthetic dentistry since 1991.
Dr. Bernal lives in San Jose with his wife, Susan, and their children. The smiles that he and his wife are most proud of are on the faces of their five beautiful daughters.
